Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a term mainly used to describe two conditions, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Microscopic colitis is another type of IBD which is not as common but more people have been getting diagnosed over the past decades. These are chronic conditions that involve inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
Liver Diseases
The incidence of liver diseases in the developed world has increased significantly over the past decades. EoE is a chronic (long term) progressive inflammatory disease which affects the lining of the oesophagus. Originally referred to as asthma of the oesophagus, EoE is thought to be triggered by an allergic response, usually to food but possibly also to environmental or other factors.
