Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD)
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a term mainly used to describe three conditions namely Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease and Microscopic Colitis. These are chronic conditions that involve inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. MC is the most recently recognised condition to be classed as IBD and it has become increasingly recognised over the last few years as a common condition.
Liver Diseases
The incidence of liver diseases in the developed world has increased significantly over the past decades. Dr Falk Pharma focuses on autoimmune liver diseases such as Primary Biliary Cholangitis, Autoimmune Hepatitis and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. These diseases have chronic clinical courses and if left untreated can lead to serious consequences such as liver cirrhosis and death.
Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE)
EoE is a chronic and progressive inflammatory disease which affects the lining of the oesophagus. Originally referred to as asthma of the oesophagus, EoE is thought to be triggered by an allergic response, usually to food but possibly also to environmental or other factors.
